flare or hemroid?

Ok, this is probably a stupid question, but since I was just recently diagnosed, I'm not sure what a flare means exactly. I have noticed some blood when I have BMs, though it's not all the time. I notice it when I wipe, and then sometimes I see it in the toilet. During the "initial presentation" of Crohn's, I rarely had any blood. Maybe twice in the 2 months they took to figure out what was wrong with me.

I have no other symptoms besides the blood, I feel really good, no fevers, BMs are solid, no urgency and I good energy. I'm hoping and thinking that if I have to ask if I'm in a flare than I am not. What do you guys think?

Internal hemorrhoids are pretty common, so that is likely if you don't have more obvious external 'roids that you would notice when wiping. I am guessing that the blood is the bright red stuff that you normally think of and not the darker red to brown or even black blood that is partly digested? You might benefit from a fiber supplement (Prodiem is safest for gut problems - assuming that you don't have any strictures). If you have a stricture, perhaps a stool softener would be better. A stool softener might be a good idea even with no stricture.

as far as flares...when you have a flare..you will know it..because you can't..on your own..deal with the flare..you need medicine..and it takes time..

Thanks guys! I do think it's just a hemmoroid, because it's bright red blood and I feel fine otherwise. It kind of freaked me out when I first saw blood.

I didn't know about the hydrocortisone cream. I may give that at try.
