Hello
Last spring my husband traveled to Mexico City for his Job. When he got back within 4 days he called me from work and said he had made a Dr. appt for that afternoon. I asked him what was going on because he NEVER goes to the Dr. He said he was really dizzy, terrible headache, fever, body achy and nausea...just something wasn't right.
He went to the Dr. and they prescribed a pretty heavy antibiodic and he was under the weather for a good 2 weeks. It was nothing to mess around with! ..really bad virus/flu. I really don't think the antibiodic helped...just time and a good immune system.
Anyway, a week later...I came down with it. I ran a fever for a week and sat on the coach and stared at the ceiling in pain! It came on pretty fast and beacause I have Crohns my fever didn't get as high as my husbands. I took Theraflu constant with ibuprofen (and crohns no no!) for a couple weeks. Eventually it went into my lungs. Asthma, Bronchitis set in and I went to the Dr. twice in that first week. Finally she gave me a steroid pack but first a shot. Next day sat around and cried alllll day. I think it was tooo much steroid at once. It took me all of Spring to really feel better....then straight into 10 weeks of Shingles.
We really didn't know much about H1N1 at that time my husband came back from Mexico. It was a week after he came back that they stopped travel to Mexico. No looking back I think we were exposure to H1N1...we don't know for sure but, it makes sense now.
