Infusion went well. The premedicated him with benedryl and solumedrol, even though he's already on 40 mgs of prednisone orally. So, he's probably not going to feel anything until at least tomorrow. We are cautiously hopeful that the remicade will make all the inflammation go away. I'll update post with his progress tomorrow. For now, things are holding steady. His knee is perhaps a tad smaller than when it was when he got the cortisone shot, and seems to be much stronger (though he still continues to use his cane, just to not aggravate it). I think perhaps the 40 mgs of pred and the coritsone shot together are starting to do the trick. And the remicade hopefully will get rid of the rest. Still keeping fingers crossed and hoping the dreaded c-diff doesn't pop up again.
What a lot of things to worry about
. I wish I could find a way in my head to go back to those days before I filled my head with all these difficult decisions and difficult diagnoses. Don't we all wish that!
I've made an appt for myself for next monday with a therapist - my first time ever. I hope I can actually
open up and talk to a person who I don't know. . . I guess we'll find out.
Thanks folks for your support. I hope you all have a wonderful day. I am going to try to sit with my hubby and read a book . . . while keeping an eye on him.
