Hey All!
As you can see, it's late (well, actually really early-5:25am) here and I'm awake, but not for a usual reason.

I went to get clorox bleach spray out of the cabinet earlier and accidentally sprayed myself. Luckily I had taken my contacts out earlier, and had my glasses on. I ran to the sink and rinsed my mouth out, and cleaned my face off. I tried to spit all of it out and rinsed my mouth over and over because I could smell it so bad, but apparently I did swallow some of it because 4 or so hours later I threw up. I called poison control and they said it's rare for it to take that long for it to make you sick, but given that I have crohn's, it's possible. Luckily I don't need to go to the ER as I obviously didn't ingest very much at all. The guy just said maybe because my system is really sensitive it made me sick...or come to think of it, maybe it's psycosematic?? Maybe from worrying I made myself sick. They just said that as long as things stay the same and I only threw up once, I should be ok. I just have to try to drink gatorade with crushed ice (I don't understand why eating ice would be any better than just drinking water) and crackers and call my GI when they open. So far the crackers and gatorade are staying down! (I've kept them down for an hour)

In about an hour and a half I have to leave for clinicals...I'm going to be SO tired by the time I get home, but luckily no plans tonight so I'll sleep really well right when I get home.

Anyway, if a freak accident is going to happen, it's no surprise that it happens to me. My dad always says "only in Becky's world" when strange things happen. Maybe I should move to someone else's world?!?

Oh man! Scary! I'm glad you're okay! Worrying probably did affect your stomach, once I actually sprayed my face with nail polish remover (go me!) and it got in my mouth and although I'm pretty sure I didn't swallow any I felt sick awhile after!
I hope everything stays down and you can get some sleep!
(Interestingly I'm drinking gatorade with ice and eating crackers right now too... spooky)

My father, a doctor, once got a late night call from a patient who complained that that new medication he had precribed for him was not helping at all. Plus the pills were huge, hard to swallow and so hard to unwrap. My father explained that those were suppositories . . .

Oh goodness! I think you probably got some anxiety from the whole event and that is probably what made you throw up. Glad everything is okay.

Down in the murder attempts. I always think of this now whenever people have accidentally swallowed something they weren't supposed to swallow. It's pretty extraordinary!!

Lmills-that's horrible. Apparently the guy had 9 lives. I can't believe all the things he lived through.

For future notice....never put things away in a cabinet with the spray part of the bottle facing out....just an accident waiting to happen.

I'm feeling ok today. Going to make some mac & cheese and find my portable heater to warm up now. Still waiting for my GI to call me back.

Eeek! Reminds me of the time, sometime between kindergarden and the first half of 3rd grade. My mother had a small glass, the breakfast orange juice size, sitting on the kitchen sink w/some Roman Cleanser in it ("generic" Clorox). I grabbed the glass thinking it was water and drank some. Of course, I immediately spit it out but I'm pretty sure that I did swallow some of it.

I don't remember what we did, but I also don't remember getting really sick or anything. Hey! Maybe sterilizing my gut like that was the cause of my Crohn's some 25 years later???? *weak smile*

I'm glad everything seems to be okay today!!! And wish you continued good luck that no harm was done!

The other day at work I tried to pump hand sanitizer on my hands and it squirted right in my eye. Luckily I closed it at the right time so it got on the lid instead but I got a lot of redness around my eye. I am also the queen of freak accidents.

Geeeeez Becky, thats a hard way to whiten your teeth. Glad your OK. How about putting that stuff in a better place . Much rather see you ruin a pair of jeans than get a face full ...

Becky, we must live in parallel worlds because that sounds like something I would have done. My husband laughs all the time at my knack for creating a disaster out of simple tasks. I'm glad you are ok. What a mess!
