UC turns to crohn's?

Told I had UC about7 years ago.  Had large intestin removed 2 years ago and got the J pouch. should of been two surguries but stuff happened and had 7.   Pain all the time, bathroom 15 to 20 a day.  The pain is unbearable at times and pills just dull it.  Now they say it is crohns.  Did I have crohns all the time?  If I go to the C bag will the pain go away? Help I'm so depressed.

((((((((Redwood))))))I am so sorry all this happened to you. What meds are you on? Are you seeing someone to help you with the depression? There are people who specialize in chronic illness, because for me being chronically ill is like having my psychological skin burned. It might take seeing a couple of different therapist to find one you like, but I believe in the mind and body approach to treating chronic illness.

I am so sorry for all that you are going through. To answer your question, in all likelihood, you had CD all along but it presented as if it was UC. It happens quite often. But probably gets caught before the surgery to remove the colon stage. While that is a cure for UC it really doesn't cure CD just makes a new place for the disease to have its way with us.

I have tried ALL drugs, just finished the home injections and no luck.  going to have a conference call with the Doctor today.  Going to ask if I go back to the C bag will it take the pain away.  Since my large intestine is gone will it start attacking my small one more.  They can take everything if it will stop the pain.

My wife wants me to ask for something for depression.  it is bad too.  Is anyone out there have had it happen like this?

Redwood, yes, it is rough having a chronic illness to deal with. It is certainly a risk factor for depression. I find that when I have a really bad flare, depression kicks in big time. I take antidepressants and I don't know what I would do without them. You do have to find the right one for you, but it is worth it. Good luck to you.
