I've been on Cimzia for about 2 months now and have recently noticed dry skin patches, like on the outsides of my forearms. It weird--they're symmetrical (same size and location on both arms). I think I've read that some people on biologics get psoriasis and am wondering if this is the beginning of something wonderful like that. I've never had dry skin like this before and it's not bad right now...

You have thought of psoriasis, my first idea, but there is another possibility. Doctors call it a "fixed drug reaction". It is usually reddening, but the symmetry makes me think that it might be that. Ask your doctor about that. I had a neat set of spots in pairs - 6 in total - after taking one of my old meds.

It's very interesting that I found your post... I too have a couple of symmetrical dry patches of skin on the outside of each arm in exactly the same location on each arm. I have had this type of patchy skin before (and I've had dry skin all my life), but this is the first time I've noticed it being in the same location on each arm. I am taking Asacol, like you... so maybe there's some correlation there.  ...interesting

Could be psoriasis, could be eczema, or maybe something else. Ask your GI or maybe a dermatologist to find out for sure.

Ask your doctor for a prescription of lac lotion 12%. I have normally dry skin, but it's worse on cimzia. Lac lotion not only exfoliates the skin, but moisturizes extremely well. You can also get the lotion OTC, but I find it does not work as well. My copay for the prescription lotion is $10. Good luck :)
