Last night I pooped myself TWICE in bed.  sad   (I assume others have occassionally had the same problem.)  Does anyone have ANY solutions to how to help prevent this?  When I lay towls down on the bed ... I don't have any problems ... plus they scrunch up under me, so I don't think they'd help anyways.  When I have non-stop diahrrea I'll take an Immodium ... then I don't poop for two days.  So what do you do when you go to bed feeling okay ... then you wake up AFTER you've pooped?  (I'm running out of pajamas and underwear!!)

Unlike you i pretty much know if i am gonna hv a bad night cramps start and i just feel like crud all around i will wear a depends to bed this way mess doesnt get all over..luckily nothing has happened yet but i still do prepare for the GIFTS this dd can give us......lyn

....if i encounter this prob during day and need to be out will wear maxi pads just in case.....no such thing as an embarrassing question here...lyn

..i also make sure i eat fairly early so i am on potty prior to bed..do you eat late..

Maybe keep some Depends on hand. It's happened to me on occasions so I know how embarrasing it is.
I was watching a show bout climbing Mt Everest and the climbers starting getting stomach sickness and they went in there pants more then once and summited the Mt and came back down with crap in there pants. Now that is embarrassing and really messy.

My mom had this happen A LOT - She used the towels in bed, but like you said they get bunched up. Wearing Depends helped in saving underwear, sheets and bedding. SHe also wore Depends during the day as hers was not just at night.

Like Howlyncat said - no embarassing questions here - ask away!

When my little brother was wetting the bed we found that you can get Queen size mattress covers with a plastic coating on the back. I could not tell you where they can be found but I know they exist. I hope that helps.

Been there. Done that. Have depends in the headboard. No embarrassment around here.

I too occasionally undergo this problem.I can't take immodium either even half doses shut me down for days. Lomotil doesn't work. I found 1 or 2 tylenol#3 work best for me. 45 minutes and I'm ok then it wears off after 4-5 hours, so set yor clock for 4 hours take it again and get a good 8 hours sleep with clean pj's and bedding.

You know this is exactly why I'm so enjoying this web site, kia asked a question most of us would be embarassed to ask freinds or family and not one of us is worried about truthfully discussing it. you guys and gals ROCK!!!!

This isn't what you were talking about, but OT a little bit. I was watching Tyra the other day and they were talking about periods. This one girl in the audience had really heavy periods and said she wore Depends to bed on her worst days so she didn't have to worry about getting sheets or panties dirty. Luckily I haven't had that problem...but it made me think that maybe I'd get some Depends to have on hand because sometimes when I wake up in the middle of the night, I don't have time to get to the bathroom fast enough. At least Depends are disposable and I wouldn't have to worry about cleaning clothes after an accident.

Like all of you said...only here can we all understand the need for Depends to bed....only here!!

Imodium doesn't sit well with me. Instead I take fiber capsules (Metamucil) 2 or 3 times per day and it gets rid of the watery accident-causing stuff.

Hey there. I have been taking codien phosphate - 15 to 30 mg at night for years. It's cheap - slows down things and does not have the tylenol which can be toxic over time. THere are 30 mg of codien in a T3.

I still have the occasional 'leak' if I have indulged in the 'wrong' foods or was munching out later into the night When I am thinking this may happen a pad or panty liner works for me.

Good question - great to hear from everyone on the many ways people have coped with all aspects of this DD.

I always keep adult size diapers on hand, especially for those times when a bathroom might not be available.
Also, Questran/Cholestyramine helps bulk stool and slow transit.

the hospital started putting me in depends and i dont mind saying for really bad times i will wear no problem........grampato2..lol i always carry fresh undies and pads with me as well as a washcloth n soap in a lil baggie..just in case..nothing to b embarressed about i believe...tk care glad to see you interracting with the great membrs here///i l know you will find ppl very helpful /sitution...there really is no such thing as an embrrassing question imho

KIA..i will wear depends to bed as well luckily they are covered thru my ohip ..gov covers..if doc signs a few gazzilion forms ..n he did,,,huggles lyn

Another one who has alot of accidents always carry spare spare clothes, pads/depends, and baby wipes.

I find it amasing that the toilets at the last place I worked would plug up from people putting paper towels in them and yet not be plugged by my underwear Ha ha ha
