I had a colonoscopy today to see how the anastomosis site was looking. My crohn's is active again, and I have an anastomotic fistula. I knew about
the fistula, because I have drainage out my abdomen. The plan is to start Imuran, Entocort and Flagyl. We had discussed Humira before the scope, but he wants to go this route first and save the Humira in case this fails. Sigh! I just don't know what to think. Does this sound right? I don't know if I should get a second opinion or not. I don't necessarily disagree with the treatment plan, but this "leak" has been going on since June. Is this surgical error, or just Crohn's? Just looking for some clarity here.
Thanks!
