HMO rejected my Remicade. le sigh. *** is Lialda?

my GI said a lot of ins rejects Remicade claims the first time they are submitted. have your GI write a letter to them stating you have been unresponsive to all other typical treatments and you need the Remicade. i just had my 2nd infusion...still feeling very crappy though.

There are a ton of people that their insurance rejects Remicade the first time they apply but that is only because it is so expensive. Most insurance companies want you to have tried and failed the lower tiered Crohn's medications before they will approve the larger TNF inhibitors like Remicade. If they will not approve Remicade see if they will approve Cimzia or Humira which is a lot less expensive and does not have to be given in a hospital or clinic infusion center.
