scoolWhen I'm in trouble what's really going on? Flare up? Obstruction? Temporary Obstruction? I have just called them temporary obstructions as it seems to make the best sense to me. ideaSince my short time here at HealingWell, I've googled so many terms, medications and such and finally googled 'strictures' today and now I know what is actually going on for me and what to call it. I have a stricture. Nice to know and just one more thing among many that I've learned here!

AzJohnny, After the last scope she told me I had ulcers again. The thing is my research into strictures exactly describes the condition my condition is in!smilewinkgrinyeah

You learn fast. For me not knowing I had Crohn's until my first colonoscopy at the age of 55, feeling good, immediately hospitalized, diagnosed with Crohn's within two days, told I needed surgery but then after phone consultation from one GI to another recommended Remicade.  Put on Prednisone and with the side effect of insomnia, spent many many hours researching and finding this forum. Learning all the abbreviations and terms and Crohn's itself. It has been a huge help in making decisons and I thank everyone.

I remember my GP saying to me that patients become experts in their own disease and will often know a lot more than they (the general practitioners) do! The amount of times I've been and she was just like "right, tell me whats up and what you need!" I think when its your health on the line you're more than willing to do the homework! Shame I don't get as passionate about my uni work! lol!
