take it at night just before you go to bed.. your asleep before it hits your sytem, the next night your at the end of its affectivness and so your tired easier, and can sleep better. its worked for me since i started this ride back in the mid 80's

I've been on pred and steroid packs, and the first few days of a steroid pack, or the first week of pred I just don't sleep. I stay up and clean and do whatever I can find to do in the house, and give in to sleep when I can't stay up any longer....it only works for me because I'm unemployed right now though. When I was working I just did a lot of physical stuff when I got home from work, and would try to wear myself out so I could sleep. Steroids give me crazy energy, so I have to do a lot to sleep on it...I feel your pain!

I am the opposite of Randy. If I take as early in the morning as possible, I seem to be better able to sleep at night.

I'm with Nanners. I take it as early in the morning as possible. Lord help me on the few days I have forgotten to take my meds and had to take them late in the day. You could try some natural products like valerian root, or melatonin if you are against sleep meds. Personally, I ask for a sleeping aid as soon as my doctor tells me I have to go on a high dose. I've done it too many times and know I won't be sleeping well. Our bodies do their best healing while we are sleeping, so sleep is important.
