SCD Diet?

Does anyone have any experience with the SCD diet and it's relation to Crohn's symptoms? Or can someone point me to a post that may have previously asked this question? (BTW my most annoying symptoms are average 5-25 water-ey BMs a day, which urgency to go, and abdominal pain usually relieved by going to the bathroom)

that sounds like uc to me I've had cd for 40 years, one of my resection surgeries, my last one actually was 1989, i shared a room with a uc guy, and he was in bad shape, he was going 20-30 times a day lost a tremondous amount of weight, do you have cde as well? I'm at a loss what to tell you I met a dude from this forum his handle was dirty harry and he was on scd diet, med free for 2 years, and the last they told him was he was going to loose his colon then he went on to that diet, changed his life, most cd'er have slight constipation issues because of either swollen intestines or scar tissue build up

Welcome to Healingwell.  I don't think I have had the opportunity to meet you yet.  I personally feel much like Navy that diet and meds should be considered as complimentary of eachother.  I personally find the SCD diet too restrictive for me, but it works well for others.  I follow a modified low residue diet (you can google it) all the time and it works well for me.  I am currently in remission, but one thing for me at least, that has never changed is that I do best if I stick with this diet.  I hope you find something that works well for you.

I am on this diet + Remicade and I am asymptomatic. Once thing I recommend is to try the diet for at least a year if you can.
