1st Humira loading observations

I had my 4 shots, last Thursday. Had to give them all in my mid-section as I do not have any fat on my legs (just heredity nothing I've done). I have a lot of scare tissue from my surgeries, and am still sore at each injection site in my stomach. The one on my side are fine. Is this normal? Also I have NO energy. All I want to do is sleep. I have been in the bed 18 hours every day since Thursday. The other thing I have noticed is that I have no appitiate. Have had to make myself eat something. Does this sound familiar to anyone?

I do not have any experience myself with Humira. I do know though that some have mentioned that they get sore in the areas where the did the injections, and that for a day or two afterwords they feel sometimes a little nauseaous and fatigued. Hopefully, someone with more experience will be along soon.

for me , once the shot is in and done stinging, its all good.

Mine are a little sore the day I do injections, then they itch for a couple days (I have to use Caladryl to keep from itching at them) then they're fine.

I ice the area after I inject, maybe that keeps them from bothering me.

As time goes on, the injections become less of an issue, and more just something you have to do. I hope they get better for you!

Oh gosh, I have to go for my first Humira shots tomorrow morning and I have a client meeting in the afternoon!  Should I reschedule it?  I am glad I read this first! 

Is there anything I can take beforehand?  When I was taking the remicaide I was obviously there for a while and they monitor you and occasionally I would all of a sudden break out in hives and they would give me a shot of benedryl in my IV.  With the Humira do you get the shots and you're on your way?

When I did my loading shots, I was extremely fatigued, depressed, and I had absolutely NO appetite for about a week. Just remember to keep eating...what you're feeling is pretty normal. I didn't even have any irritation at my shot sites.

Hope you feel better and Humira is the drug for you. :)

Im on Humira now Its been about 8 months or better. I havnt had a problem at all. I hope that makes ya feel better. smilewinkgrin

Thanks for giving me your input. The injection sites are no longer sore. I never had any itching or irration, just soreness. I am feeling a lot better, not as tired and my D is much improved! Yea!!! Still have low appetite but that's ok. Glad I made the choice to go ahead and start this course of treatment.

It is very unusual to get reactions to Humira.

I have had 10 shots now and I feel fine after them, it stings a little when I am injecting but after that I am good to go ;)
