bladder fistula???

I am having my second bout in a month with a severe UTI and my second course of heavy antibiotics. ( cipro and flagyl both times) My dr is concerned about the fact that I may be developing a bladder fistula. Has anyone ever had one of these? What are the symptoms? Oh yeah and I'm flaring right now and missed my whole work week last week running high fevers.

Had the old bladder fistula about 11 years ago. My first symptoms were passing air when I urinated. It only escalated from there, if you know what I'm saying. Long story short- my doctors put me on TPN for about a month until I had it surgically removed along with a resection at Mount Sinai NY,NY. Ten years on I have not had any problems with this recurring. Only thing I notice is that I urinate more often.

They think my son may have one now, and they should do a urine culture to see if there is bacteria in your urine to see. That would be one of the first things . And he also has been urinating more also.

My first surgery was for a bladder fistula.  My urine culture had all kinds of things floating in it and I also had the air passing while urinating.  that was interesting.  I also had the most horrific uti.  surgery fixed it, but  was out of work for six weeks.  It was also the first of three surgeries , one every seven years.

Had surgery for a bladder fistula in Feb of this year along with a resection. The syptoms I had were UTIs, peeing a lot, passing gas/air when passing urine and that there was also stuff in my urine. I was sent for an MRI scan which confirmed that I had air in my bladder which is a sure sign that you have a bladder fistula.

I have had 2 severe UTI's in the last month both of which that were cultured and showed e. coli in them. what does it feel like when you pass air when you pee?? I am just really concerned about this
