Yeah; I used to get it on my face pretty bad.... The worst was when I was on steroids/prednisone however. Sometimes my face breaks out when I have a bad flare... Always had pretty good skin though

If the acne is located on other parts of your body and you are on an immunosuppressant, it may not be acne. Many of us get a form of staph called folliculitis that looks like acne. While it is not that serious of a situation, it can lead to something that is. I have fought folliculitis for years now but it has gotten out of control and led to a more serious form of staph infection. It also let to me forming a huge abcess on my rump that I have been trying to heal with IV antibiotics. It is not something to run to the doctor over but you should bring it up with them at your next appointment. I have had multiple boils and abcesses now and had to have one on my leg surgically removed.

I've always had acne, but mine centers around my periods. I also break out more when I'm on steroids, but not necessarily just from crohn's.
I was on yaz and my skin was SO clear, but had to stop taking it after getting clots :(
Tsitodawg...my nephew gets folliculitis. I wonder what he gets it from. They have him put steroid cream on it when it pops up. He's only 9, and doesn't have crohn's (thank God!) so I wonder what other conditions can make you more prone to it.

Anyone can actually get folliculitis and most guys get it when they first start shaving. The difference for many of us is that we are immunocompromised and it can get out of hand very fast. I get a little on my face from time to time but it breaks out on my chest and back. It is not that big of a problem even for me most of the time but every once in a while it turns into a big boil or abcess.

I have acne on my face...but mine is due to lack of hydration. So I find it gets worse when I am flaring because I tend to dehydrate quickly in a flare. Not the best answer for you.....but it is what I found for mine.

I am constantly getting acne. I hate it, but if that is the worst symptom I will get from a flare...I will take it.
