I started Humira on April 8th and SURPRISE! I am getting worse! My doctor insists it is IBS but I have all the symptoms of a flare. Has anyone taken Humira and it took a while to "kick in"?

Hi, I started Humira on March 18. I didn't get significantly worse, but still have more bad than good days. I thought that I would see some fast improvement, but it hasn't been the case yet. I've done 1 set of 4 shots on 3/18, then 1 set of 2 shots on 4/2 and now one every other week. My worst symptom is fistula, and I've seen no improvement with that either. BUT,my doctor said it could take 3 months before we do see improvement. I'm hoping it will kick in too. Just taking it day by day. I hope you get feeling better soon.

Just remember crohns meds are generally not fast acting meds. It can be months before you see a significant improvement.

It took at least 2 months before I saw improvement from Humira. Unfortunately, it didn't do squat for my fistulas.

I think it took me about
a month before I noticed the Humira doing anything.
