I am only taking one packet a day and am debating on changing from taking in the morning to at night.

Anyone have input on which they find is better?

I only take it occasionally, but when I do take it I take it mid afternoon. Because it can bind to other medications that seems to be the only time that it fit into my schedule when it wouldn't interfere with the absorption of other meds. Also, I can't take it mixed into a liquid, so I always take it mixed into applesauce which makes it more filling and more of a "snack", so this works better for me.

I usually take mine before I have my evening meal, round about an hour before, but I dont think it matters when you take it quite honestly. I have taken it in the morning before and then again at night, IMO I would take it before your main or biggest meal of the day.

But just remember you have to take it an hour apart from your other medication!

Thanks folks...my directions not only say an hour wait to take the questran after other meds, but it also says 4 hours to wait to take anything after! I was wondering if it affected the times of your BMs? I guess I am trying to schedule my timing so when I have to travel a lot in the next few months it will work out. Right now if I take it in the am, I only have a BM in the morning or maybe one more in the afternoon. I am looking to see if I can time it so I only go at night. I think I am trying to schedule myself too much :-)
I still have to try it in the applesauce Zanne...how much applesauce do you use?

I use about 1/2 cup or so. But it really depends on how soupy you want to make it. The questran really tightens up the applesauce, so adding more sauce would make it more like sauce and less like taking medicine. I have found that I really only need to take about a teaspoon or so of the questran so 1/2 a cup works for me. Also I make my own applesauce so it might have a slightly different consistency than store bought, but not too much judging from what I have seen my daughters friends eat.

I have also found that if I take the questran for a few days it seems to have a cumulative effect and I don't go for a few days. When I know I will be traveling I start taking it about 3 days ahead of time and BAM, I don't need a bathroom all day on travel day. Of course like all things Crohnie, we are all different, so who knows what it will do for you. Good luck and let us know how it works.

I take the pill form mostly now because the packets I had expired. I like the pills because they are easier (no taste!!!!!), but the powder is easier to tailor the dose to a very small amount. Just more things to think about.

Thanks Suzanne...you always give good detail. I did not think about halfing the dose. I may try that as I am feeling a bit bloated...that did not happen the first time I was on this stuff. Going to try the applesauce this weekend.
