Bladder Inflammation

I've been seeing a urologist lately for blood and protein in my urine, and I had a cystoscopy about two weeks ago. He found a lot of patchy inflammation all over the place, so he did a biopsy, which came out normal (thank goodness). I asked him what would cause inflammation like that, and he said it was most likely Crohn's-related.

I've never really heard of Crohn's inflammation spreading to the bladder. I'd ask a GI, but I'm in the midst of switching right now. Granted, IBD isn't a urologist's area of expertise, but is this something that's normal?

I have heard that intersticial cystitis is frelatively common. I don't think I spelled that right. I have been having some strange bladder activity myself lately but I don't know the cause. Not bad enough yet to see the doctor. Try searching IC on the forum

I believe it is directly related to crohnes, because crohnes can cause inflammation anywhere really, even in the joints. Sometimes I think about what inflammation and disease really are.  Inflammation can manifest anywhere in the body.  I get bladder problems too and go often when "flaring", but I believe its because the inflammation from the colon is dominating. I mean its such a small, tight area there.  Thats just kind of how I see it.  Don't know if its true.
