Had to get up early and go have a CT Enterography done to check on my Crohns.  I have problems due to scar tissue and adhesions that have adherred my colon to my body cavity, so I do this instead of cscopes.  They are worried they will perforate me becuz of the scar tissue/adhesions etc.

Drank the 3 bottles of contrast/barium no problem, and believe it or not only got stuck once for the IV.  Although it was put in the inside of my right wrist.  OUCH!  Test went well and will hear the results at my quarterly GI visit on Weds. 

Then it was down to the lab to have 6-7 (lost count) tubes of blood drawn for tests ordered by family doc and GI.  After that a visit to the nurses clinic for my bi weekly B12 shot.  Can you say pin cushion:)

Its kinda funny but I feel like I got everything done, and hoping that that is it for tests for awhile.  Then its on to my total knee replacement in the next couple of months.  Thats one of the reasons I had all these tests, because I want to make sure the guts are ok before my surgery.  Keep your fingers crossed that all looks good. smilewinkgrin

Of course we'll keep fingers crossed. I had remicade yesterday. One poke right wrist on the side, my favorite vein is working again! Half way through Nurse noticed my wrist starting to swell, must have been recent as I'd checked the drip 10 minutes prior. Sure enough the IV was bent twice, the remicade was spilling into the tissues not the vein. I can't sit for a IV in my hands but the veins are big and the nurse always wants to use them. I caught her looking at one while getting the IV ready for the poke so i said maybe I can sit for one now I haven't tried for 5 years or so and maybe now it'll be ok. Wrong! It was very painful, no change and the vein rolled for a miss. Back to the arm for number 3, a good poke to finish the infusion. Just another day in the life.

Oh Gail, that could be a day out of my life. I'm glad it only took one stick.

Everything is relative --- sounds like an efficient and successful day....good for you! Hope you get all the results you want!

Gail, I hope all the tests come out ok. You have been through a lot and are a positive person. You'll sail through the knee replacement..... After crohn's, it shouldn't be too bad, right????

You sound like me...I try to do as much in one day as I can. Why have 3 days of being poked and prodded when you can just get it all done and have one bad day?

I hope you get the go ahead for knee surgery, and hope that goes well for you!

And I agree...you're so positive...keep it up!

God did I have the worst gas bubbling thru me all day. That had to have been the worst part of the day! I just couldn't seem to get it out of me. Finally found some GasX last night and that finally help to give me some relief. My stomach made so much noise it was crazy. But...I feel so much better today.

I am just glad that I got it all over with. Now hopefully all will look okay. One nice thing is I think I got myself pretty cleared out, that Barium likes to go right thru me. I was going clear in no time, much like for a prep. Thanks for everyones kind wishes. Hugs!

I am keeping my fingers crossed for you!!! I hate getting blood drawn at the lab we have. I always get the same chick and she digs and digs for a vein. And I just sit there with my face scrunched up. I need to send the lady that draws blood at the GP office to them to show them how to do it. After my colonoscopy they drew blood for IBD tests and it looked like someone had punched me in both arms several times between that and the IV. My poor niece cried when she saw it. I told my GI doc maybe I would be less anemic if everyone would stop taking my blood for tests!..just a thought...
