anyone else have this reaction to allergy medication??

I was put on the generic brand of Claritan D for my allergies about 6 months ago. about 2 weeks after I started it, my crohns stopped bothering me almost all together, almost like it went into remission. I ran out of my allergy medication about 2 weeksn ago, and after a few days my crohns came back full force! after payday I went and got more allergy meds and my crohns is starting to almost go into remission again. I'm not really complaining because it helps my allergies and my crohns, but i was just curious if anyone else has had this happen when on allergy meds. It's crazy, I felt almost like a normal person without crohns must feel like for alittle under 6 months!! I had never felt that good, even after my surgery. keeping my fingers crossed about my allergy meds & my pentasa keeping up with this good work! lol

Don't antihistamines reduce inflammation?

My sister is a RN in a Cancer Center and treats some Crohns patients and they all take allergy shots too. When she calls me she always tells me to go on Allergy shots..that it would help my Crohns. I've never looked into it because I asked my GI and he looked at me like I was crazy. Idk? Had many many allergy's as a kid. Took Actifid all through my childhood before it went OTC. Basically slept through my childhood. As I reached adult hood some of them have gone...some really still bother me but, as long as I stay in a airconditioned bubble I'm fine. This is interesting to me though. I might try taking non drowsy benadryl and see if it helps for awhile...why not!
