Even with the meds I've been given, I'm still losing weight and beginning to feel really weak.
I'm not sure what to do.... Any suggestions???

Vicky: how many doctors are you seeing for all of these problems? If you're presently being actively treated for the pancreatitis, that's the one I would start with.

I'm seeing a pancreatic specialist, and my GI for crohns, then my primary for anything in between. She's the
one I have most faith in. The others work out of a big teaching hospital and getting to talk with anyone, or early
appointments is like pulling teeth. My next appt: to see the pancreas gut is August.
My primary was thinking of admitting me on Friday, but I stupidly talked my way out of it, BUT, I'm now thinking
fluids and pain control would be a good thing, even thinking about TPN. It's such a big step for me though, I hate
to be in the hospital. No matter how sick I get I like to be independent, in other words stubborn. I have to admit
I think I'm gonna have to give in...

dunny2:  I am soo sorry you don't feel well.  Hospital's are a big invasion of privacy - if I upchuck, I don't want anyone writin it down, and if I need pain meds - don't make me wait an hour cause by then I'm crying anyway - so it is hard to relinquish your freedom -but maybe IV fluids and consitent pain meds would be easier at this point.  It is certainly hard to fight for yourself when you don't feel well.  Decisions get kinda fuzzy, reactions are way off to situations and then on top of it all . . . ya have to suffer fools . . . .in March my IV was taken out by a aide who had gloves on but just emptied the urine thingie . . . without washing or changing gloves . . .and I didn't even protest . . . .cause I wanted to fall into a hole and never come up (or maybe I was in the hole) . . . so we'll all help you.  If you need emotional support or suggestions just holler -

:(... Hospitals do suck, dunny... But it sounds like you need to get to one... It's not good that you're losing weight and feeling weak...
