so i have this little sore on my side about 3 inches above my belly button- i think it started as a little cut or something but it doesn't want to heal...if i scratch it by accident it bleeds like crazy for a while then stops buit the wound itself just won't completely heal...not sure if it's the crohn's medication or what...forgot to mention to the doc last time...any thoughts?

I think you are best advised to at least bring this to your family doc's, it doesn't sound normal. Hugs!

Hi, I have had a similar experience , when I had my op over 11 weeks ago the hole in my stomach where the drain was didn't heal until about a week ago I had to keep a dressing on as my underwear was rubbing on it and made it bleed I think my problem was that because i shower/bathe everyday it wasn't able to heal, so I had strip washes for a few days and it started to heal i did mention it to the surgeon when i went for my follow up appointment last month and he wasnt that concerned. but, for reassurance for yourself like nanners said maybe contact your doc. Well, I've had sores on my right ankle for the last 6 yrs that haven't completely healed up either...I had some on both hands and some on my left ankle as well and those cleared up, but my right ankle has been relentless with not completely healing and I've tried everything. BTW, even the useless dermies I've been to see have had different opinions and given RX but so far nothing has completely healed them....it's frustrating.

They do say that with IBD there are extraintestinal manifestations (bone, joint, eye and skin issues) and with flares these manifestations (not necessarily all of them) can appear so I know that's why I have them I just wish I could get rid of them (and the flare too, but that's doubtful since I've never been in full remission the entire 19 yrs of having this DD).

yeah i unfortunately have experienced a lot of manifestations of crohn's outside of the gut...the sore is really small but i think you all are right- a quick trip to the doc is probably a good thing. thanks! sorry you've been dealing with something like this for 6 years!

Thanks mtgman, it's annoying but it could always be worse and I'm glad it's not a fistula that I have to deal with...so I'm not really complaining, just putting it out there that with CD comes many other possible issues as well.
