So, I was watching the Rachel Ray show today and they were doing a Human lab segment on Gas products. Viewers tried different products that say they help eliminate odor when you pass gas. The names cracked me up and I know some of us when we flare can have horrible smelling gas!!! smilewinkgrin

One was called Under-Ease Gas Neutralizing Underwear and the other is called Subtle Butt (a gas absorbing adhesive you apply to your pants) I thought these were too funny. I am thinking the underwear would be a good gag gift for my dad who has UC. Hey with 2 IBDers in the family, we have to be able to laugh about it!

That's too funny! I am going to have to watch that later today. They would be very useful for my hubby too, he doesn't have Crohn's or UC, we just call it "stinky butt"

On a side note, I just received a new key chain from a friend that reads " I am only speeding because I have to poop" I am having it made into a bumper sticker for my truck!!

Actually, don't laugh, but this odour-neutralising underwear *has* been invented.

I heard the inventor being interviewed on the radio, and the announcer was thinking it was hilarious and a great big joke, until the inventor said no, it's really not that funny, he has a relative (wife?) with Crohn's and the gas is a hugely embarrassing problem for her, hence the odour-eating undies.

The announcer immediately settled down after that, and they had a really terrific discussion about how inventions like these can do a lot to improve confidence for people with digestive disorders.

I wish I could provide a link to the discussion, but it was a while ago and I very much doubt it has been archived.

That bumper sticker is hilarious! I am sure my dad would love that, he travels a ton for work and has had some close calls, and he has a great sense of humor.

ivy6, actually they did have someone try out the undies on the show for a few days and he and his wife both agreed they helped, she didn't notice his gas like she did before! Practical and funny!
