Humira dosage question

My son, 18 years old, has gone from humira to remicade and now needs to go back to humira after experiencing a reaction to remicade.  The reason for going to remicade was the humira stopped working and he had increased symptoms/weight losss.  The doctor now wants him to take the loading dose of humira but then maintain with a 80 mg dose instead of the normal 40 mg dose.  Has anyone done this and do you find it successful?  I'm nervous about the higher dosage for a maintanence dose.

I'm about to switch to 40mg/week instead of every other week. I've been on Humira for 2 years (after 6 on remicade) and it's just not holding me very well. I've learned that with the biologics you have to find the right dose that will maintain you and then ride it out for as long as you can. I hope I don't sound too jaded, but the biologics don't last forever. So, you take what you can get, make it work, and keep your fingers crossed that with all of the new meds they're working on, you'll buy yourself some time with the Humira until it stops working and then take something new. What concerns you the most about the higher dose?

I am almost in the same boat except the reverse. I was on remicade first then went to humira and now will prob go back to remicade. Seems like the biologics last only in 4 year intervals. Good luck.
