Colonoscopy findings

I just wanted to know if when you have an colonoscopy if the Dr can usually tell straight away by sight, or do you have to wait for the biopsy results?

And sometimes vision sees nothing, the biopsies are needed to confirm - or worse yet, sometimes neither vision nor biopsies confirm despite "it's" being there hiding. *sigh* The small intestine isn't called the "dark continent" for nothing. Twenty feet of hiding places no scope can reach. Looped over itself, curled round and round ..... even the pill camera is not infallible. *sigh* But its our best bet at getting somewhere near a complete picture of the small intestine.

Remember a lot of Crohns patients have disease primarily in the small bowel where the scope cannot reach. If the biopsies are negative, you might ask for a pill cam to look at the ileum.
