9 months after surgery

I had a bowel resection in October - I had the terminal ilieum removed along with the ileocecal valve. After surgery I had some issues with frequent bowel movements. This seemed to resolve itself after a couple of months. The past 3 - 4 weeks, i have started to have severe cramping and pain in my gut, along with having about 10 very loose bowel movements a day. I am REALLY, REALLY hoping that this is common?? Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

I think you better check back in with your GI, because I don't think this is common if you're in remission. I'm very sorry to hear that your symptoms are coming back :-(.

Thanks for the reply - I found out my GI is leaving, so I guess I dont have a specialist - but I am going to see my family doctor on Thursday.

I would get checked out soon, I started having pain months after my surgery and when I finally pushed for a scope my GI found out the Crohns was back.
Get ti checked out to make sure there's no Crohns coming back!!!

Hi, i had resection surgery in Jan. by June started haivng pains, the "D" 4 or 5 times a day and lost weight. Dr did another scope adn yes the crohn's was back. waiting to re start Remincade. also, he noted that my resection site was inflamed. said not unusual, but that is exactly where most of my pain is located.

I had my surgery last September. I'll be getting my first colonoscopy since then in the fall. I'm really hoping that the resection site looks good!

I'm getting scoped this fall to see if Humira is working for me, if not try something else.
