Hi all,
Can anyone recommend a good SCD-friendly way to get a lot of good carbs?
I was diagnosed with Crohn's last year and I am considering the Specific Carbohydrate Diet.
However, I lift weights and go running several times a week, and my trainer has been very clear that I need to be eating protein and carbohydrates (and lots of them).
Now, looking at the illegal list... no brown rice? no grains of any kind? How am I supposed to get the carbs that I need? Does the diet not even allow grains like Spelt and Kamut?
With the amount of physical activity my body gets, I'm pretty sure I would starve without rice or bread...on a low carbohydrate diet there is no way my muscles will get the fuel that they need.
I've seen a few articles that say you can make your own bread from almond flour and that is legal - does anyone know if almond bread is a good source of carbs?
