3 fistulas and 2 abscesses

I just got operated August 9th and they found 3 fistulas and 2 abscesses. I am 17 years old and I am really exhausted. I hate having so much pain I hope now that I got them operated I'll feel better. Right now a nurse is coming to my house and doing the wet to dry dressings. They are so painful! Does anyone have any tips on how to make that less painful? I have an open wound right now 2cm deep and 2cm wide how long do you think it would take for  it to heal? Anyways they did a biopsy on them to see if I have Crohn's Disease which I'm hoping I don't. But if I don't then there has to be something causing these fistulas and abscesses. Glad I found a place where i can talk about this. Thanks for listnening

I can't imagine how much pain you are in. Did the doctor give you a prescription for pain? There are so many variables involved in guestimating a healing time. Your age is definitely in your favor for speeding things up. My abscess took about 6 weeks to heal. Incision was about 1" long. I have no idea how deep it was. Sitz baths with Epsom salts helped a lot to dry up the abscess. I was also put on flagyl and cipro (antibiotics), prednisone (steroid) and hydrocodone (painkiller).
I hope they have your diagnosis quickly so you can get on helpful medications as quickly as possible.

@JuliaHill: I don't have any problems with bowel movements I go at least once a day and it's regular. So I was surprised when they told me they were going to check to see if I had Crohns.
I'ts good to know I'm not the only one going through this or has gone through this. It really helps to know there is someone out there who knows how I feel.
