Right now, you should start getting quotes from insurance providers in your state, and then make sure you have new insurance as soon as your COBRA expires. The HIPPA act should be able to protect you if you do this - meaning they won't be able to exclude pre-existing conditions.
But do NOT let your COBRA expire and then try to get insurance - because then the new provider might be able exclude a pre-existing conditiom.
