Sorry to have dropped out of sight awhile ago. Things kinda piled up on me and I badly need to take a break. I've recently started seeing a Pain Management Specialist and one of the drugs we tried was Gabapentine which after 8 days caused projectile vomitting for 3 days and nights. I didn't eat solid foods for almost a week after and it caused a 2 week almost remission in me. It was sooo good not to be in lots of pain, it was still there daily but low grade. After I was eating again for 5days I tried to take it again but at 1/3rd the dose and sure enough 5 days later the nausea started again so no more Gabapentine for me. 2 days ago he put me on Lyrica 25 mg once a day and already the nausea has started and my system has slowed dangerously. Going to try a few more days if I can to see if the nausea will decrease or increase enough that I need to stop. When I left there were a number of friends on here dealing with serious issues I hope they are going well, Sniper, Nanners,Howlin', June, and others. I think part of my trouble was trying to take on too many others problems without looking after my own and it blind-sided me. Please do not assume that these troubles don't concern me  because sharing pain with you is a human thing to do. I just need to learn to moderate my strong feelings better. Glad to be back  Love Rob

Awww Rob so sorry to hear you have been feeling so bad. That had to have been pretty awful few weeks for you. Lyrica is basically the same as Gabapentine, so don't let it continue too much longer, or you are going to feel bad again. Just let the doc know that you are feeling the same. I hate new meds as I never know how its gonna affect me. Most times it just causes more illness for me.

And no worries about not being here, you need to take care of you first and foremost. Hugs!

Rob, I sure hope you start feeling better soon, and I agree with Gail, new meds always make me wary!!

Funnily enough, I was wondering where you were only the other day.

I don't think many noticed, but I left for a while because I couldn't cope with hearing about people's cases. Wasn't their fault; I was just on my last nerve and ready to snap at the smallest thing. I feel stronger, hence why I'm back here. But it's harder going than it seems, helping people out (or trying to help them out). It's even harder if you're fatigued, depressed, and/or in pain. Even right now, I'm tiring, due to being unable to decide what to say next. So I shall wind it up without saying a lot else except:

Thanks NCOT that's pretty much how I was feeling too. The break helped alot though. Nanners and Dunny 2 I agree new meds are a problem but I have learned to never try more than one at a time so I can recognise side effects that are atributed to that drug. Vomitting last night but feel fine today , I'll see how it goes, not very encouraged though.
