I just started Humira on Wednesday after going through a severe flare that hasn't been responding to steroids. My doctor said that there is a chance the medication was started too late or just won't be effective enough to get me out of this flare without surgery. Typically, how soon have people seen improvements on Humira?

Goodness! It's only been a day or two. Give it some time, mlatida.
I think your best bet would be to not watch and wait, but just to observe changes as they come.
From memory, I noticed rheumie changes first, and within the first few hours / days / weeks. Gut improvements took longer.

Seems like it took about a month the first time I was on it. Just said something to my rheumy last month because it doesn't seem to be working as well this time around. She said most people get better up until week 12 and then it levels off. I would give it at least a month.

I noticed GI improvements within a week or two. It seemed to be better the first week after I took the shot and then get worse the second week leading up to the next one.
