Laxative suppositories

I was wondering if anyone has had any success with these and if so how long do they generally take to work?

I used the Ducolax suppositories before. They do work within an hour at most. I personally didn't like them as they still made me cramp etc alot. I use stool softners nightly for my constipation. They will take a couple days to kick in, but the work so much more comfortably for me. What they do is draw the water to your stool to soften it up and make it easier to pass. Hope that helps.

As Nanners said, suppositories should kick in within an hour - but for me, it's even faster than that, about 15-20 minutes normally.

I don't use them regularly. In fact, I've only ever used them as a last resort, but it's nice to know such an option exists. Pro-tip: use vaseline... >_>

Nanners, do you ever get bowel cramping pain from the softeners? Took lactulose again yesterday because it had been 3 days again - today I am getting random strange pains in various parts of my intestine and some down my legs. Having a hard time figuring out if it is all bowel or maybe uterine cramps too...ugh. Lactulose still hasn't worked yet today...
