Alkaline Ionized Water for Crohn's and Colitis

Color me very skeptical, especially considering how extremely acidic the stomach is anyway naturally. I googled Shinya and he does appear to be a prominent gastro, but I didn't wade thru Chanson's site to find the photos or his supposed testimonials there.

Alkaline is opposite of acidic, so I could see it working like an antacid. As for the ionization, sounds like a load of tripe, but with some scientific studies and real world study, I could be convinced. Sounds to me like another person trying to get rich off of others suffering.

I love to be proved wrong on this, though. It would be nice if the fix for Crohns and UC was this easy. One thing that I have learned over the years is that there are doctors out there with Crohn's and UC. If this stuff really worked, they'd be all over it.

...and if the Alkaline stuff really worked, we'd all be seeing relief from our symptoms by just taking some Tums...

Still not convinced on the ionized water thing. Their description on the website was worded very carefully. Some of it didn't pass the "sniff test".

alkalized water (ie water ionization machine) is something i've been introduced to and am interested in learning more about. unfortunately, there is not much literature that i found via quick searches and most of what i found is from companies and marketers which imho is a turn off and red flag to be taken with a handful of salt. what they tell you is interesting, but also can fall in to the "too good to be true" side of things in that it does too much good from what they say. granted the US does not like alternative medicine (all alternative medicine and supplements come with the disclaimer: not intended to diagnose or cure a disease blah blah blah by law so you cannot sue them), but i think we'd be using this much more, and other countries too, if it were really that simple and true (Japan and Germany do use it though in their hospitals from what i've read and been told). so i am skeptical still on the benefits on alkalized water.

now i did get a few weeks supply of alkalized water from a guy i ran into. of course he was trying to sell me one. but the water tasted great and did hydrate me faster, but then it should as the science says it has smaller clusters thus it can penetrate your cells faster.

so the point is to make your system alkaline, supposedly, as that is to inhibit and reverse disease. but your blood likes to be slightly alkaline, and your urine slightly acidic. the body is very fine tuned, like everything God made, so too much of anything, pushing it too far alkaline, can have dire consequences. so imho, the use of alkaline water would be like using distilled water - for short term therapeutic uses only. i believe a better (and cheaper) way to alkalize your body is via the green drink. and you get the added benefit of protein and b-vitamins too. but i am not closing the book on alkalized water as having potential benefits - there just needs to be more done on it before i invest over $2,000 on a machine.

I use alkaline water for my LPR but never heard of using it for CD.

Kangentrainer - Alkaline water is far from free. The machines go for $3,000 and up and the bottles aren't exactly cheap. Obviously clean water is healthier to drink than anything else but no one is "regaining their health" from water alone.

The water isn't free, the trial is.

alkaline water claims are complete scams. They prey on those people who do not understand biology very well. If your body's pH changed much above or below 7.1...we would all die.
My friend is a Kangen water sales rep. so I've been exposed to the the lies, and I've confirmed with numerous doctors the aforementioned things regarding biology.

It's really sad that some doctors like the ones endorsing these bogus machines and water scams, use their medical credentials to profit off of people at the expense of their health. Many people buy these ridiculous water machines in lieu of taking medications etc., and end up doing more harm than good. I'm sure a bunch of people are going to argue with me; therefore, I'm not coming back to this thread, but trust me...these are scams. Ask any biology professor, or credible doctor that you meet in a hospital, if drinking water with an altered pH will in anyway change your blood's pH...

I do use a half teaspoon of baking soda once in a blue moon, but only cause my butt hole is on fire. Does seem to work. But a cure lol there is no cure people. This is our punishment for being evil.
