Done so far:

* went back to bed and slept for another two hours
* lots of tidying
* dealt with home help
* did some mending
* walked for 45 minutes, which I'm really proud about because I could only do about five a few weeks ago
* cooked lunch for tomorrow, so all I have to do is reheat it.

Got high temp and huge mouth ulcer now. Oh joy. No wonder I've been so tired and feeling so yuck lately.

Have a good (or better) day, everyone. Sending good thoughts and big hugs to you all.

Thats quite an achievement with the walking Ivy-well done.
I went off to donate blood today. Tried a few months ago and my iron was too low as in low to the minimum they will accept blood (not as in so low anaemic) Then they wanted me to go through the paperwork/questionaire re medical history,travel etc etc(nothing has changed since last time) anyway they wanted details of any/all ops/ investigations and I refused to go through it all with them again as I had done this last time. They insisted they needed it, I told them that they had it last time and that I was informed that I didn't have to do it again(unless something had changed-which it hasn't) "Well, if we just go through it now" says they. "No" I inform them and walk out!! I got really annoyed lol. Guess I will be keeping all my blood :)
How is it that some things really iritate??

my goodness Ivy- pop some pills, get in the tubbie, and take a load off.

today was an active day: had to take ds2 to speech at the hospital = lots of walking,
also stained the deck which I had been putting off for 2 years. Yes, folks, YEARS. Now, I feel like I've been run over by a truck, BUT my deck looks like a million bucks :)

Tonight: rest. I'm not even going to do laundry or work on the stairs. If I have more energy later, I may make the turkey soup, but I'll probably do it tomorow.

Awww, Ivy, so sorry you're feeling bad. You need a few good days. It's hard having bad day after bad day. Good job on the long walk, also!

My pain is much better today, but now I have a headache from the morphine. I should have thought ahead and had him prescribe something else, cuz morphine always gives me horrible headaches, but I wasn't thinking. At least I'm tired from the pain med and have been able to nap today.

Have to work tomorrow evening, and every day until Sunday as well. Hopefully I'll make good money and make up for not working yesterday or today.

I rate walking highly. Quite often, fresh air and pleasant scenery has lifted my mood more than any med could. Here's hoping you have many more walks!

(And that the mouth ulcer heals soon. Ouch.)

@vixen - That's just really stupid, IMO. Especially as you were specifically told you wouldn't have to fill in your details again. Their loss. (I would donate my blood, but I think it's pretty safe to say I would be rejected tout suit.)

@Tara28 - Don't really know what "staining" a deck is, but congrats anyway :p

Met my TLCs for today, which was to basically go to my brother's and ferry my nephew to and fro from his tennis lesson. The most driving I've done in one day for ages. I had to brave the Magic roundabout a total of six times, which is just sadistic. Plus I managed to take the wrong turning off the roundabout in the dark: I never even noticed until my nephew asked why we were going to London >_>. (He'd seen the sign I had failed to spot.) Instant stifled panic attack. But I was very lucky, as the next exit deposited me exactly where I wanted to be: usually when I get lost, I get even more lost, so this was extremely welcome indeed.

Ivy, just noticed your question in the old thread, but didn't want to resurrect it...

A boil order is when your water might be contaminated due to "organic matter" yuk, usually after a huge storm. So you have to boil water for 5min prior to drinking it. Typically we have 2x 10gallons downstairs, just in case.

NCOT- staining a deck is like painting it, except the color is semi transparent so it turns a pretty color but you can still see the grain of the wood. Its been driving me nuts as the old pressure treated wood was graying and just looking a bit neglected.

I'm impressed. Staining a whole deck sounds like hard work. I hope you didn't have to sand it down beforehand?

That has to be annoying, boiling all your water. Hard work, too. I hope you don't / won't have to do it for long.

NCOT, I feel stressed just reading your description of your driving day. I'm a fairly new driver too, and my idea of heavy driving is tackling our country (two lane) highway for half an hour or so. Once again, kudos to you: never underestimate how much you're doing there. How's your brain now, though, after all that concentrating? Is that why you're especially shattered tonight?

Tara - Ah, okay. Sounds a bit like coloured varnish. Good work, though. I'm sure it looks a whole lot nicer now.

Ivy - The worst parts where when my nephew was with me. The responsibility of not crashing weighed even more heavily on my shoulders than normal. I must admit, it was a serious relief when I got him home safe and sound. My brain held up quite well, considering, but I did sleep for 2 hours later than normal today. Maybe the driving yesterday is the reason why!
