conflicting info from the Dr. today

I went to see my GI today.  I just had remicade with the max dosage this am and hten wen to see him.  here is what he said:

1) Colonoscopy back in may showed inflamation at resection site and above resection site consistent with crohn's

2) Ct with contrast done 10 days ago showed inflamation up to the first loop of small bowell

3) he said blood test did not indicate any crohn's.  he said that could be meaningless.

4) I have off and on nasua, lost 13 lbs in 3 weeks, have pains off an on (on scale of 1-10 they range from 1 to  5 for up to a few mins).  WHen he felt around I was tender in the same spot that has been tender since recover from rescetion srugery in Jan.

5) he feels my nausa  and problems are clearly form the inflamtion and the scan showed narrowing already.

Reminder, I had 2 major GI bleed outs after surgery, on on day 3 (not unuual) and once on day 16 (very unusual) which i was readmitted for a few days

So here is my question, could my issues actually be inflmation and scarring from the surgery and not from crohn's?  I know by reading here that many have the issue but many years after surgery and have to have it fixed.  But could it be this soon, especially since the bleed out occured which we all know that quicken and thickens scar tissue.  I am begining to think this really my issue.  I am meeting with my regualr doctor tomorrow and will review.

Any thoughts?

What is your sed rate? CRP? These are the primary markers of inflammation.

It sounds a lot like inflammation which might be treatable with meds. ARe you on any meds now?

thanks . I am on remicade- max dosage plus last week they added Predisone 4omg per day. i dont remember the number for theCRP, but he said it was not indicating inflammation- which is somewhat odd he said.

I do feel a little better since the pred, but when he pushed arouund my belly, there was a very tender spot. Plus, today, I had a few sharp pains in the same spot, then had about of nausa.

I have had inflamation at the resision site since surgery and I have had pain the whole time. the dr and surgeon said it was normal and would get better. But it is now 9 months later and I have having symptoms of a partial blockage- this is what the Dr said to me- so he is treating as it the crohn's is active even though the markers do not. the CT clearly showed inflamtion and narrowing and the colooscopy back in May (i had similar symptoms) show inflmation at the recision site and just above it just like before.

I am confused. I knew crohn's would come back, but now this fast and this hard. unless it is something else.

I meet with my regular doctor today to review everything. She said the CRP test is a good one but not neessarily one you use soley to make decisions. She has other patients who do not show high levels but have fistulas, open sores in month and anus etc. She beleives if you have a spike or flair after no symptoms, then the CRP would show high, but if you have been active without any real "remission" then the tes does not alwasy show inflamation as your bodies baseliine is now moved up. does that make sense to you?

Finally, she said Since the colonoscopy and the ct scan show inflamation and narrowing just 8 months after surgery, that there is active disease. Unless something else is causing it. I am meeting with the surgeon next week just to review the scan with him. The reg Dr suggested it so that we rule every possibility out.

And, insurance company approved my disability claim for full pay through Nov 14th, 2010. So, i have time to onely worry about getting better. Thanks to my regular doctor for taking care of this for me.
