tsitodawg, thanks for looking at my side of things, I appreciate that. Very few in my life understand this disease, and I've had to deal with a lot of the things you talked about
(comparing it with the flu, downplaying it, suggesting crazy fast miracle cures). Just this year my step-father had a colonoscopy, and was partly awake for it. Explained it to me as a cake walk, so easy and pain free. He questioned why in the world it was painful for me, and why I was so upset that I woke up during mine. It was frustrating and belittling. For me it was nice to have a forum where it was for those who understood exactly what we go through. Whether it's Crohn's patients, or their family/friends. But IMO there are better places for those who are "healthy" to talk about
their routine health check ups. I'm sure the OP didn't mean any harm, and I am glad he had a good scope. My only advice to him would be to research a bit before he posts somewhere, due to the nature of forums such as this.
