Hello: I am new here (female age 46) and new to CD, I was diagnosed in April 2011. I recently was treating for intestinal parasites, I was prescribed Albenza, this probably sounds weird, but when I was taking the Albenza my symptoms of CD went away and I felt great. Does anyone think there could be a correlation? I also have gone Gluten Free and this has helped tremendously. I am just looking for insight. I am on Lialda 1.2 GM 2X. I cannot afford it! I am the only one in my family with CD. I am one out of 8 children. I do have an autistic child with gut issues. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thank

Is is safe to use O of O on a regular basis?

I'd like to know what the toxin is.

I'm pretty sure you'll find that the interreaction of genes and infections in triggering autoimmune disease is old news. Really old news. I have the feeling it's the combination of the three that's the breakthrough.

My daughter had a intestinal virus aobut a year ago. Diarhea adn pain. From that day on her life was daily pain constipation diarhea sleeping all the time. Falling asleep just a couple hours after an 11 hour nights sleep, coming home from school early because she couldn't hold ehr head up. trips to the ER a stay in the hospital. Finally she was diagnosed with celiac disease, and a few months later with Crohn's disease. She finally ahs more good days than bad. For about 2 months the Dr.s told us it was still jsut the virus but I knew it wasn't. she ahd felt better for aobut a week and then the pain was unbearable for her daily. Doubled over crying in bed. From what I've heard and read the virus is just a trigger for someone who has the markers (which she has) She also has Down Syndrome another genetic mutation. This is just our personal story and how it all played out.

Welcome to HW. What is O of O—oil of oregano? If so, I'm not sure about the safety for taking it on a regular basis, probably a good idea to ask the pharmacist or your GI. I've tried it a few times, but it's hard to tell how much it helped the CD, because I had intestinal obstructions that required surgery.

Also, there's a button at the top called "Post New Topic". It will start a brand new thread and will get more relevant views, instead of posting a new topic in these really old threads.
