Ok, so a little history
Dx with crohn's disease in 2004 at age 19. Had fistula, extremely ill, fevers, hallucinations, pain, vomiting etc. Started on remicaid felt immediately better in less than 2 weeks. Was on Remicaid for about 6 months, then doctor had me stop.
Remission until late 2007. Started having symptoms, abdominal pain, occassional nausea etc. March 2008 I was at work helping a patient to the bathroom and had sudden right groin pain. I thought I pulled muscle. When the pain did not stop after 5-6 weeks I went to a doctor. They had me to physcial therapy which didn't help. Referred me to a orthopeadic specialist. He had xrays done found nothing. He then had me get a CT scan. (I was in a wheelchair by this time and newly married (married less than 6 months)). Immediately following the CT scan I was told to go straight to the ER department to be admitted to the hospital. They found a 6" abscess in my lower abdomin. Within a day they put a drain in to try to drain it. My hemoglobin was down to 7 and I had to have a blood tranfusion. After 30 days and countless tests, they gave up on draining it and I had a major abdominal surgery to remove the abscess and 1.5 feet of my intestines.
Shortly after the surgery I started having frequent diarrhea and stomach cramps. I had no idea if it was related to the shorter gut or crohn's. Doctor ordered colonoscopy and found very minor inflammation, but did not feel that I was in active crohn's at that time. Through the last 2 years since the surgery, the diarrhea has never gone away, nor the stomach pain. about 6 months ago they started me on humira every 2 weeks. about a month and a half ago the humira was only effective for 1 week after injection. I was put on prednisone for 35 days, and immediatly started feeling better. I then requested to re-start remicaid after 6 years after stopping it. My doctor was willing to try and last monday I had my first infusion which went well with no reactions.
Last night at about 8:30 pm, I started having severe sudden joint pain in my jaw- both side...Right side maybe a 6-7 and left side about a 3-4, worse when I chew. I took one of my vicoden and went to bed. This morning when I woke up I had severe right groin pain (about a 4-5) wrist pain on both wrists (3ish) my left arm when I move it about a 5, and my jaw is still very sore, about the same. The vicoden doesn't work (7.5/750). I took some benedryl thinking maybe I"m having a reaction, but no relief after an hour.
Any ideas?? Could it be remicaid giving me this pain??
