feeling so uncomfortable

I know Iam lactose intolerant so I now have my box of lactaid. I ate some ice cream tonight with 1 pill. I am so distended and in so much pain it is aweful. Anyone else find that it doesnt work? Should I avoid it alltogether or maybe just add a 2nd pill when I have ice cream?

I can eat a "little" ice cream and some cheese, but not much. I tried the lactaid and the lactose free milk even and they caused the same problem. I would just avoid it if its giving you that much grief. But thats me. Good luck!

I noticed frozen yogurt WITH lactaid seems ok but ice cream a big no no. I took some probiotic pills last night (doubled the norm) and used a warm herbal pack on my belly last night, woke up still bloated but tolerable pain at least

If you blow up like one of those balloons in the X Mass parades, maybe you need to stay away from icecream and milk products. Next thing you know someone will tie ropes on you and drag you down main street for the holidays . Geeeez, I have nightmares ...

More than one pill for ice cream for sure. You can experiment and see what works best for you. Lactase production seems to be fairly unpredictable day to day. But if you ate that ice cream on an empty stomach - that would be a ticket to a rough night.

It's been a long time since I've eaten ice cream without difficulty. Now I don't even like ice cream anymore. I don't take lactaid pills because I've gotten out of the habit of carrying them around.
