* exercise (done)
* get hair cut
* do some clothes shopping
* tlc for legs & nails
* make muffins
* have an early night.

Wow, that's a LOT of rain. We're having unprecedented snow here in TN. Schools were closed yesterday and today, and it looks like they'll be closed again tomorrow. It's still coming down even now.

No TLCs left for Tuesday. None for tomorrow, really, except to have a go at cooking a prawn dish. Oh no, wait. That's Thursday. Scrap that...

Low-grade fever only tonight. But still feel rubbish. Anyway sorry for that one. Should never have said anything.

We're not completely snowed in. An inch will close the schools around here. The daycare was open today and hubby went to work. I'll be returning to work (after a 5-day weekend lol) tomorrow. I bought a new heating pad to keep at work for the pain, so hopefully that will help me get through the day.

Ok, let me clarify just a bit here...I'm not really "snowed in" it's more like "iced" in. It snowed about 8 inches, then sleeted, creating a layer of ice on top of the snow. Yesterday a couple of the major interstates were shut down because they had 4" of solid ice on them. Some of the ice has thawed, but temps will be low enough tonight that tomorrow roads will be even worse. A lot of my neighbors got out today (the ones with 4-wheel drive) to run to grocery stores. I walked to Texaco and back just to get out of the house. My sister walked to the grocery store to get milk and cereal.

I went shopping over the weekend so I'm good food wise for a while. Boredom is setting in though...it stinks being in the house alone.

Geesh Ivy, that's a lot of rain! I'm sure you're over the rain. I saw your other post that Phoebe is in a flood area...scary. When did you have contact with her last? Did she have somewhere to go for safety?

I don't know about Phoebe. We don't "talk" much offline, but the last time she was on here she was unwell, and now with these floods... I'm concerned for her, because if she has to pack up her flat or evacuate or anything, she's going to be doing it while sick, and that's going to be really hard (and maybe even damaging) for her. And that's before you even think about whether she's safe or not.

I've always had the sense she works in the CBD, and that means she'll have been told not to go to work today in case she gets stranded there, so that's something.

That ice sounds terrible! How do you walk on it? Do you slip and slide all over the place, and fall over all the time? I can't imagine how you deal with that. Truly.

NCOT, how's your book going? I thought of another one you might like, btw: On the Beach, by Neville Shute. It's another old apocalyptic one, but scary nonetheless. They made two movie versions of it, too. You can find the modern one here, which I recommend for the scenery alone... plus, even though I'd read the book dozens of times and knew the story backwards, it still had me pretty upset afterwards.

Hehe, I slid a couple times, but since some of it had melted, there were clearer, slushy areas that I tried to walk in when cars weren't coming. The side of the road was a bit harder to walk on, but I made it! My legs are a bit tired from the walk...and I didn't notice until later in the day today.

I cleaned the kitchen today, including the floors. It helped with the boredom. I'm going to continue cleaning over the next couple days...it's the only thing besides watching tv that I can do until the roads clear.

It's so hard to relate at all to the floods...and I can't imagine dealing with it healthy, much less unwell. I'll be thinking about Phoebe. Hopefully she'll contact you once she's safe.

NCOT-can you take something right away when you feel the fever come on? Or does it hit faster? My eyes burn when my temperature raises, so I'm aware when it's high, but not yet a fever, and sometimes I can take tylenol right away and keep it from getting really high. Don't know if it's possible for you?

I have a gp appt today so i need to prep for that. I could also do with some food, but that could be tricky! can see me coming back with some anti-biotics today.

Ivy - thats a hell of alot of rain, and i used to live in Rep of Ireland!

Becky - I hear you with the ice, its never the snow that keeps people in. Its the ice!!!

NCOT - sorry to hear you ran another fever, but pleased to hear your pc is built!!

Ugh...it was about 19 degrees and windy overnight, and it's not supposed to get warm enough to melt everything until Saturday. Cabin fever is setting in. It's funny that when you can go out, you're ok being home, but when you're forced to be home for a period of time, it drives you crazy and you want to get out!

Choc, I hope your appt goes well. What do you think you'll be on an antibiotic for?

I seem to have an infection somewhere, so a pescription of anti-biotics is now on the mantlepiece. Hopefully i'll be able to go round tomorrow to get them.
