In 2008 when I was at Mayo my Mayo gastro said that the MRE was better than CTE for the rectal area but still not so great for the small intestine. But was also very confident that MRE would soon be more revealing than CTE. One of the goals is to reduce the exposure to radiation that CTE gives by eliminating the CTE in favor of the MRE.
