Wow. And now North Korea is having its coldest winter on record. Weird, weird, weather everywhere...

* shower and dress
* keep nurturing piglets
* keep giving the cats extra tlc, as their noses are just a tad out of joint (how come the pigs get to eat multiple times a day and they don't? Hmmm? How come?!!)
* tlc for legs
* roast beef
* exercise
* go to appointment

While out:

* get boxes from supermarket (for pigs, again...)
* go to pet shop and see if I can find a hay rack or similar for them, as they love hiding behind the cheap substitute (cutlery holder!) I got from the discount shop, but won't eat from it
* take paperwork to hospital and book in? eyes
* post / deliver letters
* go to nursery? (dangerous!!!)

Housework stuff:

* make bed (or change and wash sheets? Dunno)
* tidying (15 minutes? 100 things? we'll see)
* dishes
* wash pigs' dishes
* plant seeds?


Does anyone else have the impression that the pigs are starting to take over life here? :-) Oh well, better to focus on the pigs and the cats than the medical system...

Oh Man, is it monday there already.  I am just getting up to start my Sunday workday (nite).

How hot is hot?  Can you give it in F cuz I NEVER remember how to convert, but I can guesstimate.

Just 37C, mdf, but we don't have air conditioning, and I'm v sensitive to the heat. I start to melt when it gets to about 24C (which I think is in the 70s in your terms?).

Aaaah, 70 is the perfect temp Ivy! At least for me it is. It was about 70 today here (strange, a couple weeks ago it was 18 and snowing) and beautiful! P.S. Don't ever visit Atlanta in the summer, it gets up to 110...way too hot.

For Monday:
*pack overnight bag to stay at friend's house
*drive to friend's house

Not much to do. I may try to start painting...still haven't gotten around to starting the trim paint....one day...

I worked today (Sunday) after going to a party last night. I got home from work and was up a few hours then crashed, now watching tv for a little bit then I'll go back to bed again.

I should send you my air conditioner when I'm not using it. I can't imagine going through the hottest summer day without air conditioning. On the worst day can you go to a bookstore or something and enjoy their air?

Yes, I could, and would if I had to, and the gut let me. It's harder on Sunday, though, as fewer things are open.

* go to pet shop and see if I can find a hay rack or similar for them, as they love hiding behind the cheap substitute (cutlery holder!) I got from the discount shop, but won't eat from it - yes. $30 later.....
* take paperwork to hospital and book in? - nope. Couldn't stand facing the place today
* post / deliver letters - yes
* go to nursery? (dangerous!!!) - yes. Got a piece of pipe to make a play tunnel for the pigs ($7.50 later...) :-)

* tidying (15 minutes? 100 things? we'll see) - done some
* dishes - done lots
* wash pigs' dishes - yes, but there will always be more to do...
* plant seeds? - nope. Too humid; too late

Next up: put the roast in the oven; hang the washing on the line (in the rain, probably); make the bed; maybe do some more tidying. Oh, and rearrange the pigs' cage, now that I have new goodies for them to play with :-).

Oh, and to pacify the cats, I have fresh kidney, which will need to be chopped for them. Horrid and bloody job, but the adoration is worth it :-).

Yeah, that sounds about right. Pushing 100, maybe. There are sites online to do the conversion, if you're interested.

Oh, boy, oh boy! Oh, goody goody gumdrops! A new box, filled with hay! A grass rack! A hay rack! And a tunnel with two entrances, that gives us the delightful indulgence of *choice* every time we enter it - which way shall we go this time? Oh, it's so terribly exciting: let's burst into a cacophony of commentary, and popcorn all over the cage, so intensely that we knock over our food dish *and* our water bowl, and make more mess for Ivy to clean up... :-) (pigs are cute).

The roast is in the oven, and the kidney has been chopped, and a bowlful given to the cats. Still have to hang the washing and do tidying, dishes, etc etc.

Ivy, heroine in the eyes of her small creatures tonight :-)

Well they need someone to depend on, right!  Just be careful with your cape, the fluttering may scare them. smilewinkgrin

Work is almost done.  Having a bit of chicken and rice before heading home.

Don't know, I thought it was quiet all weekend.  Things will probably pick up for the week.

Ivy, is that you with your pig, or just a demonstration to us uneducated ones about what popcorn means?  I have to admit, I thought you meant you were giving popcorn for food til I watched that.

hey Ivy and all on TLC, Ivy now I hope you're not roasting those little pigs already! haha.

           Monday morn, take wife in for gall bladder removal, then see my gi at 9:45

           stop for pain meds for her, our daughter is meeting me down at hosp. then get her home back in bed, she hasn't been to hosp. since 1989 for the birth of our kid

           then we're ging to watch east of eden if she is up to it (doubtful) 

          37c is very close to 100f, I lived in canada for 10 years, so I learned cellcius and farhn real quik, I know -40c is -40 f been in lots of that in canada, we wouldn't winter there, we would go back up there 1 month early so I could ski before racing season started, thats how I would get fit for upcoming season.

         well we're off, wish us luck

Well back to work today. Do have to say that I feel a little more rested today, than I did last week.

After work, have to the monthly trip to Walmart, to stock up on household supplies. Not much else going on with me today.

Yuck. Work. I am having a hard time getting into the spirit of working today. My TLCs for today:

* Go sign up at the Gym at work, so I can work out over lunch
* Write up a document I have to get done today for work
* Do some laundry

I don't think I can plan to do much else, since I think I'll be working at least 12 hours today.

AG, I hope your wife has a speedy recovery and zero complications. ((Hugs)) Ivy it sounds like you are having a good time with the piggies. That's awesome!

Just a quick post,

Had my GI appt today. He just did a catch up, and was pretty concerned about my swollen knee (it swelled RIGHT up to about 3 times normal on wednesday). So i'm being referred onto a rhuematologist to get some fluid out and *fingers crossed* its simply crohn's arthritis. Did some bloods and he's checking my rhuematoid factor as well. RA is my biggest fear, my grandmother had it, and it took her over. She ended up in a chair, unable to wash herself or function in any way. I dont want that. I'm not sure i could cope if it turns out this is RA starting. I'm not even 25 yet.

I'm not going down that road, it is NOT RA starting.

Choc - my husband had the same thing happen to him year before last. He had huge knee, and his Si joint and neck were inflamed. In fact, he had to get water drained out of his knee like 4 times, and had 2 cortisone shots. They tested him for RA and drug induced lupus, and lupus and all negative. They called it either reactive arthritis (to either flu shot or c-diff) or crohn's related arthritis. He got his remicade infusions moved up to every 6 weeks, and went on a 3 month course of steroids (started at 40mgs) to help calm things down. So far, knock on wood, his joints have behaved.

If it makes you feel any better, they say with RA, it usually starts in the smaller joints, like hands, and doesn't usually start with the larger joints. I hope you too are cleared of RA. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, but in my opinion, this isn't the start of RA.

Choc, any chance you injured it over the past week? I'm crossing my fingers it's either an unknown injury or crohn's arthritis.

Ivy, I'm so glad you're enjoying your new little family members. They sound like they have a great mommy who loves them already!

I'm feeling really unmotivated today...can't get going...maybe some energy will kick in soon...

theres no chance i've injured it, it was so swollen i would definately have known i'd done something. It would have REALLY hurt! Its not painfull to walk on, but i dont know, i've had joint pains for a couple of years. Kinda worried that GI has taken it so seriously and referred me to rhuemy immeadiately. I normally have to struggle with stuff for awhile before he realises i'm being serious! He is actually lovely though and he even noticed i'd cut my hair off!

I'm leaning towards it not being RA but the fear is still there. Mum just doesnt get it, just cos its not likely doesnt mean i'm all sunshine and roses about it all.

Thanks guys, i'll get through it once i know what *it* is exactly!!

Choc - our doc too was alarmed and immediately referred my husband to a rheumy. The reason he sited was because my hubby's knee really was huge. He said that amount of inflammation was not normal when my hubby was already on remicade. If he said his joint was hurting, he'd probably just have ignored it (he normally does). But seeing his huge swollen knee, he was worried about infection in the joint, and said see a rheumy right away.
