Tuesday tlc

I've had an absolutely crashing headache for the last eighteen hours; the sort of headache that just makes you want to go to bed and lie in the dark and stay there... but I have home help coming at 2pm and I don't feel like I can put them off, so that gives me less than three hours to be showered and dressed, with the house ready for her.

Hmmmmmm. Maybe I will try to put her off, and just ask her to skip this week... We'll see.

I know a type of headache rememdy, but you need someone else to help you apply the pressure.  Let me know if curious, I can try and explain it to you.

Don't think you could get the piggies to push on pressure points...though sometimes I wish I could teach my cat to massage...wouldn't it be nice?

LOL. My cats massage... usually at night, when they've decided that my back / side / shoulders look as if they'd be the most comfortable place in the world to sleep, as long as they rearrange it a bit with their claws .

Oh Ivy, I hope you start feeling better soon and don't have to go to the hospital. I'm glad you managed to put off the cleaning until later. Sorry, can't be of more help. :-/

My TLCs for tuesday:
* Get a little more completed on the work document
* Get in to work by 9 am, instead of dragging my feet around the house
* Pack lunch for myself so I don't have to eat out

I did manage to get one of my documents done today, and I signed up for the gym at work. Didn't manage to do any laundry. I only just got home from work, still haven't had dinner. I really need more regular work hours. Oh well, they are nice to me, and let me take time off when I need it, so I guess I just need to grin and bear the extra hours that I have to put in periodically.

ps. Does anybody know, is it possible to develop migraines in one's thirties? 'cos I'm wondering if that's what I've had / am having - didn't feel like I was seeing normally yesterday afternoon, and now have some sensitivity to light, things like that.

Turns out I'm running a temp, too, despite Panadol, so maybe not... maybe it's the latest manifestation of that virus. Who knows.

Oh Ivy, sendingyou big massive very gentle (((((((((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))))) and spoons. I hate headaches, i get so grumpy with a bad one. I'm sorry your feeling so rough, you dont deserve it.

No real tlc's today just rest up and keep eating.

I'm 31 and migraines have just become an integral part of my life sooooo not exciting. I had Remicade yesterday and I've been fighting off a migraine since last night. I used to just sit in the dark and take hydrocodone or whatever else I could get my hands on until I went to see a neurologist and he prescribed Maxalt. It works well, though I'm still waiting on this pill to kick in....good luck!

(((Ivy))) so sorry to hear you are suffering so. Hubby was in your shoes this weekend, and the only thing he says helps his migraines is to sleep. So rest if you need to, tidying can wait.

I hope you guys are okay, I was just reading about the cyclone about to hit you guys. I hope you are in a safe area Ivy.

Having a bit of a fibro day myself. I hate these achey muscles. And its not even gonna rain. Grrr...

Hmmmm. Have to go to a doctor to get drugs :-(.

D'you need to go while the headache is active, or can you go after it's gone and just describe the symptoms? My gp appt is two weeks away yet, and I'm thinking about ringing up and seeing if I can find an earlier one, but don't fancy my chances.

I'm sorry Ivy. (((Hugs))). I have gone when my migraine is still there, because I've never gotten rid of a migraine without help. But I am sure they can diagnose with symptoms as well. I hope you get some drugs to help you. Multi-day headaches are definitely bad!

Oh my hubby is doing fine on the pred. He's back at work, and is doing fine. He's just being evaluated for lymphoma because they saw some swollen lymph nodes in the abdomen on his last CT. From what I read, it is not too uncommon to see that in a patient with an active crohn's flare up (which the CT also showed - that there was bowel wall thickening). 2 months from now, we'll need to take yet another CT to verify that the lymph nodes have reduced in size back to not being so visible.

Other than that, he's still got a high resting heart rate, so he sees a cardiologist tomorrow. I think now it is because of the pred. But he has a family history of heart disease and lots of heart attacks, so I think it's about time he started keeping tabs on his heart (he's 46 this year).

For now, his diet is still very simple and bland, since he's still recovering from taking the flagyl. It always takes a while for his bowel to normalize after flagyl. But on the whole, he's so much better than he was, and our only real worry is about next steps - both for the slight possibility of lymphoma, and tapering off the pred and maintenance of the disease in remission (ie. is remicade still working for him).

So lots of doc appts in the next couple of months, and hopefully they'll all help him feel better, and we will receive good news rather than bad. Keeping fingers crossed.

I hope your migraine is letting up and you're feeling better. If not, please rest, and do see a doctor, even if it is an overtaxed GP - because you need to get this headache under control. Some situations do warrant it, and migraines are absolutely horrible.
