manuka honey

I've been on manuka honey for about a month and so far it's been amazing. I have had crohn's disease since I was very young and have always been on medication with frequent symptoms, recently I developed a fistula and have been in hospital, not in a good place. Since taking the maunka honey my stomach has been a lot calmer, less diarrhea, and i've also been using it for the past few days to apply to the fistula to reduce swelling and inflammation and perhaps heal it somewhat, the swelling has gone down amazingly and it feels so much better so i'm hoping that if I keep applying it it'll really help to heal the fistula over the next few months. I take 2-3 tsp a day, one hour before eating. It is quite expensive but well worth it if it calms my symptoms or even gets me into remission. I'd recommend you try it and see if you have crohn's as i'm so glad I did.

Would manuka honey help to heal an abcess that was drained.  I had an abcess form one inch away from an old abcess that was previously drained.  The surgeon drained this new abcess two days ago.  I now have a one inch long deep wound that I hope will heal quickly.  I am currently tapering down on Prednisone (at 13 mg).  I would like to try the manuka honey if it is likely to help and especially if it will do no harm.
