mtgman, take your time, new job, I waited 1 1/2 years before I got fmla. just a reminder if you have HR dept. they say oh we work for you workers, BS they work for your CO. so they will do whats best for CO. they will help you legally they have to. But I would wait until things are good for you in that Co. then go to HR,not your boss. ask for fmla forms, don't evan tell HR, just ask for fmla forms, thats it don't give much info. wait until you have your dr fill out form. You have to tell him that you would like to be able to not come in if it's bad. you're allowed 84 days a year for sick leave. the only trouble is you have to keep track of days you did call in so you know, use your calendar,mark days you called in, try not to do it to ex tend your weekend, that is the first thing they will do is watch what days you call in, they look for patterns. I had no pattern, I would call in when I was at work, if I had cramps and I knew there was going to be br issue, i called in, hard to deal blackjack when you have cramping pain
