first appointment with G.I specialist

me again lol

after puttin up with symptoms for 6 weeks, ive finally got an appointment with a specialist next week on thursday. was told a had to wait another 5 weeks from now but doc moved it forward thank god.

anyways what will the specialist do at this appointment? will he diagnose me and give me a better prescription? just now im only on 10mg steriods a day.

and im still waiting on a colonoscopy!

just any thoughts coz the letter doesnt tell me and i wont be amused if its just another appointment with a different doctor thats going to keep me waiting weeks.

Your DR will take a complete history, run bloodwork if it ihasn't been done yet and do a physical exam (pressing on your belly, checking your glands, reflexes, eyes, etc.). Then s/he will probably schedule you for a scope and ask if you have any questions. It won't be scary.

They will run the blood work to see if there is any inflammation or infections going on. Most likely set up a scope. Unfortunately not much can be done until you have a scope. Good luck!
