ulcer in small intestine

Well since emergency exploratory surgery in Dec..and weeks of test they say its a ulcer in middle of small intestine.....has anyone ever had this?? if so what treatment did you have...

Been diagnosed with and without crohns since early 1980's///now they are leaning towards crohns but said it needs to be biopsied..

I too have small intestinal ulcers. I have one that flares from time to time. I am currently in a flare. Right after I eat I experience some minor discomfort. I will be going in for a colonoscopy on march 1. In the past the doctor is able to look into the very beginning of my small intestents to see if my ulcer is flaring. But I can already tell that it most likely is just but my symptoms. After the scope we will be better able to know what is the best way to treat the my chrones flare.

Ulcers and/or inflammation in the ileum (part of small intestine) is one of the more common
symptom of Crohns. At present I have several ulcers there, and presently my treatment is steroids.
However in the past I've had resections (removal of infected section) and been given other meds to
help combat the disease.

It does sound like you have crohns, but if they only found the one ulcer, it would appear you're disease
is presently at the mild stage. Hopefully after the biopsy result, they can get you onto medicine that
will keep this at bay. Good luck!
