Does anyone ever experience discomfort between their shoulder blades when in a flare? When ever I am in a flare I experience this.I know I am currently in a flare due to the increase of stomach aches and bathroom trips. Any suggestions to how to help ease or help rid the discomfort? Blood work shows slight anemic and slight inflammation and low vitamin D.

Gas? Eat a low residue diet and eliminate lactose or other foods that might be making you gassy. If it's on the right side, it could be gallbladder I guess. I'm sure there are lots of things that this pain could be from, but gas is the first that comes to my mind.

I don't know if it's the same thing, but I tend to get muscle knots along my shoulder blades. Never noticed if it's related to a flare or not.

I had (still sometimes get) pain around the shoulder blades - when I got admitted to hospital for it the doctors said most likely thing was the gallbladder was irritating the diaphragm as the nerves for that are actually around the vertebrae so you feel the pain there and not where the actual organ is - pretty weird! Anyway it turned out mine was actually lung pain (pleurisy) but worth noting it could be gallbladder issues.

DH has pain between shouldar blades as well. He has had x-rays and nothing structural is wrong. We really believe it is referral pain from the Crohn's. What intestinal tract he has left has grossly enlarged places and greatly restricted areas. When he has gas, he is just miserable until he can get it to pass. This is most always associate with the back pain.

yep, it is referal pain from cd for me. it can be my whole back shoulders neck,

Just had my colonoscopy and everything looked good. GI doc. says the pain and nauseous feeling might be my gallbladder. He wants to set up an ultrasound of my gallbladder to see if something is going on. Here we go again. I guess it is the process of elimination game.

I had that done last fall. Abdominal ultrasound can only see stones larger than 4mm. Other gallbladder issues might be visible - don't know. Has your GI set up a HIDA scan also? That one measures gallbladder ejection fraction and was my least favorite test of recent memory.

Can anyone tell me if gallbladder will also make you nauseas? I've been getting a lot of that recently. Not feeling well all the time stinks.

Yes, I think I've read that here - gallbladder issues were causing nausea.

The night before I went into the hospital for my gallbladder, I was in the bathroom throwing up about every hour on the hour.  So, yes the gallbladder can cause nausia. 

I also get a lot of neck/shoulder pain and it took a long time to finally get a diagnosis.  I have buldgeing  and degenerative disks in my neck and this might be caused by the CD.  It took about a year to get this diagnosis and of course..nothing can be done for it.

Yes still feeling the nausia after I eat. Tonight I also have the discomfort between the shoulder blades and a stomach ache. Oh when will this end. UGH! Hopefully they will find out why I feel this way.
