Any suggestions anyone on what to put on them? I've had these ones for about 2 weeks, normally
after I give myself a B12 shot they tend to go, but this time nothing I do is healing them. I've tried
regular lip balm, anti-biotic cream, even preparation H, now I'm out of ideas.
So if any of you guys got some good old home remedies I would love to hear them.
BTW, my mouth is very inflammed as well!! Thanks.

Cheilitis. I've had it before too. My doc gave me an ointment and it worked well. It was many years ago, so I can't remember what the ointment was.

angular cheilitis sucks....i get it too, when i forget to basically OD on my B-vitamins. It's not just a vitamin B12 deficit that can cause this ....a vitamin B2 deficit can too. This sounds really random, but vit B2 gets absorbed in the same place as B12 and bile...so if you have a problem with one, you might have a problem with the others too. Oh the things I've learned studying for my MD license!

As soon as I give myself a few handfuls of gummy vites (hehe, the kiddie kind), the chelitis is gone within days. Taking vitamins as candy helps me remember to take them :)

Sometimes you can actually get a yeast like infection that will cause those cracks in the side of your lips too. I had a dentist tell me to put a little of the cream you use for vaginal yeast infections on the corner of my mouth and it took it right away. Hugs!

I have issues with this. Another is it is a fungal issue, so things you would normally use to treat cold sores won't do much for it. Like Nanners said it can be caused by yeast too, and with my anti-fungal cream I also use monistat. It can be caused by a number of things,deficiencies in a number of vitamins/minerals can be caused.

I hope you find something that works for you!!

Thanks Gail and Endeavor, I shall be arming myself with Vit B products and some monistat. Ha, the only thing
with doing all that, I won't know which works, but I don't care, I'll kill or cure. It's such a small thing, but you
add it to the mix of other problems, then it becomes more than annoying :)

I had 1 doc tell me to break open a vit E pill and use the liquid in there on it but hat didnt help me then another suggested take zinc that worked like a charm for me

Dragonfly, it's weird that you posted about the vit pill. I gave myself a B12 shot yesterday, and there
was a little left in the syringe, and it actually crossed my mind to put a little of the on my finger and
rub it into my cracks. I didn't, but I'm still wondering if it might have helped. Mmmmm!!

B vitamins, iron, zinc deficiencies can all cause angular chelitis.

I've used fungal cream(monistat should work, have a derm prescription too) and desitin (topical zinc) on them to help them heal in the past. Fixed my iron and haven't seen any since I started getting infusions in November.

I had crohns of the mouth when I was a child with extreme swelling.
Back then I was under the knife. But now days I heard they use some tuberculosis medications for that.
This was the university hospital of Lund in Sweden.
