Gallbladder polyps

My ultrasound shows that I have some polyps in my gallbladder. The doctor wants to do a 6 month ultrasound follow up. Question: Is this something that I should be worried about? The longer the polyps stay inside me, does that increase the risk of gallbladder cancer? Has anyone ever heard of gallbladder polyps?

Never heard of GB polyps. I had to have my GB removed because I had a thin film separating it into two not because of stones. Hmmm....interesting.

Hi all! I haven't been on here for ages!
Yep, I have heard of them. I have just been diagnosed with one and because I am having so much pain in my gb, after they have performed some tests on my stools to test for the presence of blood and if those are clear, I will be booked in for gb removal (finally). If I wasn't suffering pain they would have just had me back in to check the size of the polyp in 6 months. If they get to over a cm in size I think they like to remove your gb because there is increased risk of the polyp turning nasty.

I have never heard of them?? I had stones which blocked ducts going into my small intestine..?? Is there a risk of inflammation and infection?
